Kamuzu College of Nursing, a constituent college of the University of Malawi, is inviting
applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant post:
POSITION: ICT Director
LOCATION: Kamuzu College of Nursing
SALARY: Within the University of Malawi, Administrative staff salary structure.
TYPE: Fixed term contract
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the principal,the main purpose of the job is to provide efficient and effective ICT.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
a.Developing implementing and monitoring ICT management policies, standards
strategies and procedures.
b.Designing, evaluating and maintaining computer operating systems, data processing
functions and competitive new technologies.
c. Developing implementing and monitoring budget.
d. Facilitating the acquisition, review and maintenance of computer hardware and network
systems
e. Linking with section heads on their ICT requirements
f. Establishing and fostering professional networks
g. Training of staff and students in the use of ICT
h. Fostering safety and security of data and ICT facilities.
i. Mobilising resources.
j. Preparing reports
k. Supervising and appraising staff
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have: at least a Master’s degree in relevant field. Those with Bachelor’s degrees must have extensive experience in ICT in a busy institution.
