Kamuzu College of Nursing, a constituent college of the University of Malawi, is inviting
applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant post:
POSITION:Lecturer in Maternal and Child Health
LOCATION:Kamuzu College of Nursing campuses in Lilongwe and Blantyre
SALARY Within the University of Malawi, Academic staff salary structure.
TYPE Probation leading to permanency or Fixed term contract
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Head of Midwifery Department,the main purpose of the job is to teach, conduct research and publish in the Maternal, child and Reproductive Health.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are the key responsibilities of the post:
1.Teaching students.
2.Planning,administering and processing students assessments.
3.Supervising students in clinical areas,students projects, dissertations and similar works.
4.Executing administrative duties assigned by the offices of the Principal, the Dean or Head of the Department
5. Conducting research, consultancy and publishing
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must have: at least a Master of Science in Midwifery; a strong first degree in a related
field; hands on clinical eperience in midwifery and child health nursing; paid up and active member of the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
