This module provides the student with the opportunity to utilize advanced knowledge, skills and appropriate attitudes related to adolescence to enable them to critically analyze adolescent issues, to ensure quality improvement in the desired state of general and required adolescent health, based on current research findings.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this unit, learners shall be able to:

  1. Analyze the development process during the three stages of adolescence.
  2. Review selected theories that explain adolescent growth and development.
  3. Explore the concept of risk and risk-taking during adolescence and its implications on health and health seeking behaviour;
  4. Analyze provider-client interaction that can influence adolescent’s health seeking behaviour.
