This course is designed to offer advanced knowledge in Biostatistics. The course offers more advanced methods of statistical analyses, research designs and modelling that are utilized in biological, medical research and other health related research. Students will be able to design, analyze and interpret results of statistical data analyses and will further be able to critically evaluate scientific research protocols, presentations and papers. Topics include analysis of variance, parametric and non-parametric tests and multiple as well as logistic regressions

MODULE AIMS

This module aims at advancing students’ statistical knowledge in more complex analytical methods used in biological, medical research and other health related research.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Apply appropriate statistical analysis procedures for a given research question
  • Compute and interpret computer outputs from Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA).
  • Compute and interpret outputs from multiple and logistic regressions.
  • Compare the advantages and disadvantages inherent in selected methods for handling missing data.
