This module introduces students to the concept of environment, environmental health and the issues and tools of intervention in solving environmental health problems. It covers the history, development and scope of environmental health and explores issues of professionalism, global environmental problems, relationship between environmental health and other health related disciplines. Learners will be able to describe the links between the environment and human health and will confidently discuss the main environmental health activities. They will also be able to deal with specialists such as civil and public heath engineers and Environmental Health Officers with whom they come in contact during their work.
