2012/2013 ACADEMIC YEAR POSTGRDUATE PROGRAMMES

Kamuzu College of Nursing is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to pursue the following programmes:

1.    Master of Science Degree in Child Health Nursing

Admission Requirements

Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience after obtaining  any of the following qualifications:

i)    Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing plus University Certificate in Midwifery.
ii)    Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery
iii)    Bachelor of Science in Midwifery

2.    Master of Science in Community Health Nursing

Admission Requirements

Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience after obtaining any of the following qualifications:

i)    Bachelor of Science in Community Health Nursing.
ii)    Bachelor of Science in Nursing plus University Certificate in Midwifery.
iii)    Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery

3.    Master of Science Degree in Midwifery

Admission Requirements

Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience after obtaining any of the following qualifications:

i)    Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and University Certificate in Midwifery
ii)    Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery
iii)    Bachelor of Science in Midwifery
    
4.    Master of Science Degree in Nursing & Midwifery Education

Admission Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience and be currently working in a nursing education institution or be willing to be deployed to a CHAM nursing college after successful completion of the programme plus any of the following qualifications:

i)    Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education
ii)    Bachelor of Science in Nursing plus University Certificate in Midwifery
iii)    Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery

5.    Master of Science Degree in Reproductive Health

Admission Requirements

Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience after obtaining any of the following qualifications:

i)    Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing plus University Certificate in Midwifery
ii)    Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and Midwifery
iii)    Bachelor of Science in Midwifery
iv)    Bachelor of Science in Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
v)    Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine

Additional Requirements for all the programmes

•    Academic transcripts
•    Copies of academic certificates
•    Copies of current professional registration certificates (from Nurses & Midwives council or Medical Council)
•    Reference letters (two academic and one professional)
•    A non-refundable application fee of MK2, 500.00 for Malawians and   US $300.00 for non – Malawians.  
•    Proof of scholarship i.e. support letter from the sponsor.

ii)    All programmes are non-residential
