Welcome to KCN Research Center

The Centre of Excellence in Nursing, Midwifery and Health Sciences Research houses research in the fields of Nursing, Midwifery, Neonatal, Women, Reproductive and Health Sciences, Primary Health Care and in HIV/AIDS.  The Centre provides an environment for conducting research in these fields for Health Promotion and disease prevention.

The centre assists faculty and students to develop and/or refine their research skills. As an integral part of the college, the centre generates scientific knowledge for the  nursing and midwifery professions and for general health. It assists the college meet its commitment to improving health of Malawians both in the rural and urban areas by providing scientifically derived knowledge and information to stakeholders about best health, nursing and midwifery practices.

Three pilot studies are being undertaken through this centre and these will culminate into three fully fletched projects depending on the results of the pilots. There is a five year HIV prevention project.
